Upon the Fields of Friendly Strife by Vladimir Ribachok
Limited Edition fine art print on premium archival paper.
This painting depicts a Saturday afternoon in the fall at the Academy in incredible detail. The colors have changed, there is intramural activity. However, if you look closely, you will see that Michie Stadium in the background is full of people watching an Army football game and cheering their cadets on. The quote "…upon the fields of friendly strife…" is taken from a statement by General Douglas MacArthur when he was Superintendent of West Point in 1920. It changed the concept of sports activities at the Academy and is evoked once again in this fine art piece by artist Vladimir Ribachok.
